ConVal’s Elise Robbins wins Division II pole vault state championship Athletes from ConVal’s girls and boys track and field teams competed in the Division II state championship meet at Oyster River High School in Durham on Friday, May 26. The girls team finished in 15th place out of 18 competing teams, with 10 points. The boys team finished in 8th place out of 18 teams competing, with 23 points. Junior Elise Robbins is the 2023 Division II state champion in the pole vault. She cleared 8’ 6” to claim first place and score all 10 of the girls team’s points. For the boys team, sophomore Kendrick Edwards scored 9 points with a second-place finish in the 100meter dash (11.37 seconds), worth 8 points, and a sixth-place finish in the long jump (19’ 9.5”), for 1 point. Junior Jack Harris finished in second place in the pole vault, with a personal-best height of 11’ 6”. That second-place finish earned 8 points. The 4x100-meter relay team of Edwards, Harris, junior Anthony Cadwallader and sophomore Elliot Featherstone finished in 44.85 seconds, good for fourth place and four points. And junior Jamie Post finished in fifth place in the 110-meter hurdle event in a personal-best time of 17.03 seconds, scoring two points. Additionally, Cadwallader’s 5’ 6” high jump tied a personal-best performance. Junior Aida Davis’s 1:03.13 was her personal-best time in the 400-meter run. Senior Brianna Decker capped off her high school triple-jumping career with a personal-best 28’ 10.5” leap. And in the final track event of the evening, the boys 4x400-meter relay team with seniors Ryan Charron and Nathaniel Mao, along with junior Ryan O’Connor and freshman Mason Deschenes achieved their best-ever time of 3:54.56.

The girls and boys track teams both finished 3rd out of 7 teams in a meet at Conant yesterday. Jack Harris pole vaulted to 1st place with a personal best jump of 10’ 7”. The boys 4x100m relay team (Kendrick Edwards, Elliot Featherstone, Jack Harris, Anthony Cadwallader) crushed their newly-broken school record with a 44.94 sprint. William Simard easily won the 1600m with a sub 4:40 run. Maxx Telofski finished 2nd in the shot put with a personal best throw of 38’ 6”.

ConVal’s boys and girls track teams both lost a dual meet at Milford on Saturday, May 13. The girls
scored 52 points to Milford’s 88, and the boys scored 72 points to Milford’s 102.
Despite the team losses, several ConVal athletes won individual events. Four juniors from the girls team
led the way. On the track, Elizabeth Petrov won both the 800-meter run (3:16.91) and the 1600-meter
run (7:15.30), while Aida Davis won the 400-meter run (1:05.27). In field events, Tasha MacNeil won the
javelin throw (90’ 1”) and Elise Robbins won the pole vault (7’ 6”).
On the boys side, four individuals and one relay team took first-place finishes. Sophomore Kendrick
Edwards won the 100-meter dash (11.27 seconds) and the long jump (19’ 5.25”). Fellow sophomores
Elliot Featherstone (200-meter dash, 24.63 seconds) and William Simard (3200-meter run, 10:57.29) also
achieved first-place finishes. Junior Jack Harris won the pole vault with a jump of 10’ 1”. The boy’s
4x100-meter relay team of Edwards, Featherstone, Harris and junior Anthony Cadwallader followed up
their school-record performance earlier in the week with another victory, finishing in 45.32 seconds.

ConVal athletes shine at Sanborn Invitational
ConVal’s boys and girls track and field teams participated in the Sanborn Invitational in Kingston, NH on Saturday, April 22. The girls finished in a tie for 10th place of 21 teams competing, with 20 points. The boys finished 18th of 22 teams competing, with 7 points.
Junior Tasha MacNeil factored into all 20 of the girls team’s points. She placed 2nd in the javelin with a throw of 106 feet, scoring 8 points, and also finished 2nd in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.29, for another 8 points. MacNeil, along with senior Sophie Hatmaker, junior Aida Davis and sophomore Eliza Bull, finished the 4x100-meter relay in 55.88 seconds, good for 4th place and 4 points.
For the boys, sophomore Kendrick Edwards scored 4 points for his 4th-place finish in the long jump, with a distance of 19’2.5”. Sophomore William Simard placed 5th in the 1600-meter run in 4:42.9, which earned 2 points. And the 4x100-meter relay team of Edwards, juniors Anthony Cadwallader and Jack Harris, and sophomore Elliot Featherstone earned 1 point for their 6th place finish in 47.13 seconds.

ConVal’s boys and girls track and field teams competed in the Saber Invitational at Souhegan High School in Amherst on Saturday, April 15. The girls team finished in 9th place with 24 points, led by junior Tasha MacNeil’s 12 points (2nd place in the javelin with a 103’6” throw and 4th place in the shot put with a 29’ throw) and junior Elise Robbins’ 10 points for winning the pole vault with 9’3”. The girls’ 4x100-meter relay team of senior Sophie Hatmaker, juniors Aida Davis and MacNeil, and sophomore Eliza Bull earned 2 points for their 5th-place finish in 54.59 seconds.
The boys team finished in 11th place with 22 points. Sophomore Kendrick Edwards led the way with 10 points, including a 20’7” long jump that was good for second place and a 100-meter run of 11.73 seconds, which earned him a fifth-place finish. Sophomore William Simard’s 4:36.92 1600-meter earned him a 3rd-place finish and 6 points, while junior Jack Harris had a 9’6” pole vault, good for 5th place and 2 points. The boys 4x100-meter relay team of juniors Harris and Anthony Cadwallader along with sophomores Edwards and Elliot Featherstone finished in 4th place with a time of 45.74 seconds.
