Tonight CV softball traveled to Opechee park to face Laconia. The cougars came out strong and were able to plate 2 runs in the first inning as lead-off batter, Samantha Henderson reached on an error, stole around the bases and scored on a past ball. Morgan Bemont was walked, went to second on a walk to Lily Mandel, took 3rd on a ground ball by Kendall Sullivan, and scored on a past ball during Mackenzie Anderson's at bat. The cougars remained quiet for a few innings but blew it wide open in the 4th inning scoring 5 and batting around the order with singles by Mackenzie Anderson, Mackenzie Gauthier, and Samantha Henderson and doubles by Avery Moore and Lily Mandel. The cougars scored 2 more in the 5th and 6th to capture the 11-2 Victory. Each of the starting cougars scored a run and Samantha Henderson and Morgan Bemont scored 2 each. 

   Defensively, Lily Mandel was on the mound. She pitched the complete game and had a perfect game until the 5th inning with one out when the 8 batter got a bloop single into left field. Mandel faced 25 batters, allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, and striking out 11. She did not give up a walk! Mandel moves to 2-0 for the Cougars!
