HOLLIS-BROOKLINE HIGH SCHOOL: 7
The Cougars took the field tonight behind Lily Mandel on the mound. Hollis jumped on the ball and scored 1st but CV answered after a leadoff double by Sam Henderson, a stolen base, and a right side hit by Breanna Hutchinson. The score remained 1-1 until the 5th inning when Hollis combined hits to score 2. That was all they would need for the win but they scored 2 more in the 6th and again in the 7th. The final score a 7-1 loss for the Cougars. Mandel pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits, striking out 5 and allowing only 2 walks. Defensively Sam Henderson made 5 catches in the outfield and Morgan Bemont was again solid behind the plate not allowing any past balls and diving to catch a pop-up bunt.
