The Cougars jumped on the ball in the top of the 1st inning scoring 3 runs off of 4 hits against Sanborn on Saturday. Sanborn answered back scoring 2 runs of their own but the cougars led the way the entire game. The Cougars added 3 more runs in the 3rd and several in the 6th. The end result was a 9-3 victory for the Cougars to capture their first win of the season. Lily Mandel pitched the complete game allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, and striking out 10. She did not give up any walk. Behind the plate Morgan Bemont stopped every ball. Leading the offense for the Cougars were Morgan Bemont who was 4-5 with 3 singles, a double, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored and Lily Mandel who was 3-3 with a pair of singles, a double, 2 RBI and was intentionally walked in the 4th inning. Samantha Henderson was 2-4 with a pair of singles and 2 runs scored, Mairin Burgess was 2-4 with 2 singles and 2 RBI, and Kendall Sullivan smashed a triple getting 2 RBI. All in all the Cougars had 9 runs on 14 hits!
