The Cougars took the field tonight under a beautiful double rainbow at Ecco Field. Lizzy Nute did an amazing job singing the National Anthem and the game was under way! Trinity scored early plating 3 runs in the first inning. The Cougars responded with 5 runs of their own. Senior Captain Sarah Dauphinais started the game off with a deep triple, je8r first of the season. Sophmore catcher Shannon Allen was walked along with Rachyl Parslow. Hayley Cheviot hit a 2RBI single followed by a Single from pitcher Jaden Hubbard-Lemay. Trinity scored 1 run in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th and 1 run in the 6th to get their 7 runs on the evening. The Cougars plated 5 more runs in the 2nd off a Shannon Allen double, a Hayley Cheviot triple, and singles from Jaden Hubbard-Lemay and freshman Anna Bartsch. The Cougars scored 2 runs in the 3rd, and 1 in the 4th and 6th to total 14 on the evening. A great team win 14-7!! Jayden Hubbard-Lemay took the mound for the cougars going 5 innings. She faced 26 batters, gave up 8 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 7, which was a season high. Lizzy Nute came on in relief and pitched the final 2 innings. She faced 8 batters, gave up 2 hits, and struck out 1.
