ConVal Girl’s Tennis lost to Kingswood 3-6 in Wolfeboro on Monday.

With usual #1 player Julia Peters out of the mix for the day, #2 Catrina Kipka played in the #1 spot against Maddie Ward.  The match was at 7-7 when Catrina broke serve and won 9-7.

In the #2 position, Zoe Werth played Grace Saunders.  There were a lot of close points and games; Zoe lost 4-8.

Freshman Eva Calcutt played a great match winning 8-1 against opponent Emily Carpenter.  Lena LaFleur lost to her opponent, Anna Mansfield, 2-8, in a match with a lot of long points.

Rounding out the singles, Jill Karlicek lost to Danielle Schillereff 4-8 and Sandra MacKay lost to Paige Moore 4-8.

Catrina and Zoe played Kingswood’s number 1 and 2 players and had some great points; they lost 5-8 in an exciting match

Eva and Jill played in the #2 position against Emily and Anna.  They were outplayed and lost 3-8.

The final win of the day came late with the newly established #3 doubles team of Lena and Sandra.  The two served well with Lena chasing down a lot of balls and Sandra adding some effective volleying.  The pair defeated Danielle and Hannah Crane 8-2.

ConVal girls are back at home vs. Manchester West on Wednesday, May 1st, and play at Milford on Thursday, May 2nd.
