The ConVal Girl’s Tennis Team won their second match of the season 8-1 on Wednesday at home vs. Trinity High School. The temperature was in the mid-80’s and there was a gusty wind, but that didn’t bother the team. ConVal won 5 out of the 6 singles matches. Julia Peters, Natasha Kipka, Zoe Werth, Catrina Kipka and Jill Karlicek won handily. Natalie LaFleur, in the longest match of the day, lost 4-8
Doubles play was exciting: Julia and Natasha won easily 8-0, improving their record to 4-1. Upcoming sophomores, Zoe Werth and Catrina Kipka, won in exciting play with long points, lots of “switching” from ad and deuce courts, excellent volleys and baseline play. Their record is now 3-1. Sisters Natalie and Lena LaFleur won easily 8-0 and worked well together recording their first win of the season as doubles partners.
