The ConVal Girl’s Tennis Team played Souhegan at home on Monday, April 9th. Conditions were sunny but cold, in the low 40’s, with a gentle wind that picked up now and again.
#1 ranked player, Julia Peters, played a formidable opponent in Lila Morgan. Both girls have a very similar game with a fast past, strong serve and coming into the net. Julia lost 4-8.
#2 player, Natasha Kipka, won 8-1 in long points and many games that went to deuce over Abby Tesconi. Zoe Werth and Catrina Kipka also won their singles matches.
Zoe Werth and Catrina Kipka played #2 Doubles vs. Lexi Weisberg and Anna Goyette, winning 8-3. Both girls worked well together, communicating, hitting deep shots to their opponent’s baseline and consistently getting their serves in.
A new #3 doubles team was tried out today: the LaFleur Sisters (Natalie and Lena). They did not win but Coach Glo sees a lot of potential in the duo, which just needs time to practice and play on the same side of the net together!
Overall, ConVal lost the match 4-5.
