The JV Cougars continued their mid-season struggles with a 42-40 loss at Kearsarge yesterday. After an 8-0 start to the season the JV Cougars are 2-4 in their last 6 games with their toughest stretch of the schedule to come over the next 5 games.

The JV Cougars struggled with effort, team chemistry, and intensity in yesterdays game. They made a great charge in the 3rd quarter where they held Kearsarge to just 6 points. However, they let up 14 in the 4th and gave the game away. 

Regardless of the issues, the Cougars made it a game in the end. The Cougars got the ball back down 42-40 with 30 seconds left in the game. They moved the ball well in the possession after a time out which led to Trevor Faber having an open look at a 3 pointer with 7-8 seconds left. The shot looked good, and just rimmed out at the last second. Erich Clark got two offense rebounds and missed both put backs. Finally, Max Scheinblum got a last rebound, put a shot up just after the buzzer sounded, The ball went in but was just a second or two late.

Erich Clarke and Austin Knight led the scoring yesterday with 12 a piece. However, the Cougars need to fix their defense and fix it fast. The JV Cougars have high scoring Manchester West visit ConVal on Friday 2/15 for the JV Cougars last home game of the season.
