MERRIMACK VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL: 40
The Cougars came out of their first game of the season with a big win at home over visiting Merrimack Valley. With a 26-20 lead at halftime, Merrimack Valley made a run towards the end of the third and even moreso in the fourth quarter. Two big shots from Will Theriault in the fourth sealed the deal. The Cougars transition game was what made the difference turning steals into fastbreak points and attacks to the rim on offense.
Leading scorers for the game were Trevor Faber and WIll Theriault with 11 points each, and Erich Clark with 10. Well played, smart basketball also came from Austin Knight, Owen Michaels, Max Scheinblum and Malachi Page. James Cook also was impressive netting 5 points while playing with one hand and holding his shorts up with the other.
The Cougars next play at Milford, Thursday 12/20 with a start time of 5pm. Hope to see you there.
